喙 NHIS Korea – Important Notice for Foreigners & Overseas Koreans 

Did you know?
Any foreigner or overseas Korean who has stayed in Korea for six months or more is required to subscribe to the National Health Insurance (NHIS).

 Effective from: July 16, 2019
 Who qualifies:

Anyone who has stayed in Korea for six months or more

Exceptions: Those with Study (D-2) or Marriage (F-6) visas can subscribe immediately upon arrival

 How to apply:

NHIS will automatically register you once you meet the eligibility period

You’ll receive your NHI card and billing notice by mail

Visit your nearest NHIS office if you:
• Didn’t receive your card
• Came with family and want family coverage
• Want to apply for reduced contribution (student visa holders or F-4 visa holders)
